Hot on the heals of our recent gig at this year’s Glasgow Big Band Festival, we have another cracker of a gig lined up at Kelvingrove bandstand on the afternoon of Sunday 14th July. With big band classics from Basie, Mintzer and Mary Lou Williams included in our set list it’s sure to be a hit with jazz fans of all persuasions.

Timings for the afternoon are still to be confirmed but keep an eye on our website, Instagram (@byresroadbigband), Facebook page or Twitter feed (@BRBigBand) as we’ll post the times as soon as we know them.

Now all we need it the sunshine!

George Square (as part of Festival 2018)

We’ll also be performing at Festival 2018 at George Square on Saturday the 4th of August, and we’re on the big stage at 12:15pm. We’re delighted to be involved in Festival 2018 where Glasgow’s iconic George Square will be the beating heart of Festival 2018 during the 2018 European Championships, creating a carnival atmosphere through a spectacular line up that will delight all ages and put Glasgow and Scotland’s renowned creativity in the spotlight.

As you enter George Square, marvel at a spectacular commission by world-renowned artists Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan, who also designed the vibrant and colourful Festival 2018 logo, before settling in to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and delicious Scottish food and drink. The big stage programme celebrates Glasgow’s status as a UNESCO City of Music with diverse and exciting line up of performances, alongside dance, theatre and much more. Come ready to play and explore – our installations PIVOT and BPM will capture the imaginations of all the family.
